McLaren Davison is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant under general supervision to perform patient care and assist in a variety of procedures and tests. You will greet patients, answer calls, and support clinic operations across physician practices.

The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) with 6 months of medical assistant experience, or completion of an approved MA/EMT/Nurse Aide/LPN program. BLS may be required within 6 months for Rural Health clinics.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent with 6 months medical assistant experience.
• Alternative: completion of approved medical assistant, EMT, nurse assistant, LPN, or armed services medic program.
• BLS certification within 6 months for Rural Health Designation clinics.
• Preferred CMA or RMA certifications.
• AHA/ARC BLS certification may be required by management.
• Experience with electronic medical records.
• Experience in a multi-provider medical office.

Responsabilidades

• Provide patient care and assist in a variety of medical procedures and tests.
• Greet patients, answer phones, and direct callers to appropriate staff.
• Perform duties across physician practices including patient registration, scheduling, and insurance tasks.
• Collect insurance co-pays/deductibles and verify insurance details.
• Record financial activity and balance transactions per shift.
• Assist with injections and venipuncture; monitor vital signs.

Under general supervision, and according to established policies and procedures, will provide excellent patient care by performing or assisting in a variety of medical procedures and tests to assist in the examination and treatment of patients, including but not limited to vital signs, procedures, various treatment, administering injections and venipuncture. Provides excellent customer service by greeting patients, answering the phone and directing the caller as appropriate. Performs duties across all physician practices, patient registration, scheduling appointments, collecting insurance co-pays and deductibles, insurance verification, records financial activity and accounts for all transactions completed on each shift.

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months experience as a medical assistant.

OR

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of one of the following programs: medical assistant, emergency medical technician, nurse assistant, licensed practical nurse or armed services medic program.
• For clinics with the Rural Health Designation, Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), and Canadian equivalents, (MHC approved providers for the resuscitation certification) is required within 6 months of hire

Preferred:

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
• American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification. May be required at management discretion.
• Electronic medical record experience.
• One-year experience working in medical office with multiple providers.
• Previous experience working in a medical office of the same specialty.
