Job summary

The City of Durango invites applications for a Part-Time Receptionist/Cashier at Chapman Hill. You will greet visitors, process registrations, handle cash, and support daily operations in a busy recreation facility.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and at least one year of customer service with cash handling. CPR/First Aid/AED certification or the ability to obtain is required; a valid driver's license is also needed.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist visitors, providing information about Chapman Hill and City attractions, programs, and activities.
  • Manage facility access and monitor identification systems.
  • Process activity registrations, facility admissions, room rentals, and locker reservations.
  • Handle cash, operate computerized cash registers, and complete related accounting tasks.
  • Monitor equipment check-outs and assist with merchandise sales.
  • Direct visitors to staff, meetings, activities, and programs within the facility.
  • Operate computers, telephones, and other office equipment to complete daily tasks.
  • Assist with facility policies and procedures and promote safe work practices.
  • Assist with inventory, supply orders, and other facility needs.
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.

Be part of the action at Chapman Hill as a Part-Time Receptionist/Cashier with City of Durango Parks and Recreation. You’ll welcome and assist visitors, help people register for activities and access the facility, handle cash and merchandise sales, and support the day-to-day operation of the facility.

What You’ll Do in This Role:

  • Manage facility access and monitor identification systems
  • Process activity registrations, facility admissions, room rentals, and locker reservations
  • Handle cash, operate computerized cash registers, and complete related accounting tasks
  • Monitor equipment check-outs and assist with merchandise sales
  • Direct visitors to staff, meetings, activities, and programs within the facility

You Have:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of customer service and clerical experience, including cash handling
  • Possession of or the ability to obtain CPR, first aid, and automated external defibrillator (AED) certification
  • Possession of or the ability to obtain a valid driver’s license
You Will Succeed in This Role If You:
  • Provide friendly, responsive service while assisting a variety of visitors and customers
  • Stay organized and accurate while handling registrations, payments, cash, and other transactions
  • Communicate clearly and professionally in person and by telephone
  • Can balance customer service with the administrative and operational needs of a busy recreation facility
