ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Greet patients and other visitors when they arrive.
  • Answers telephones, schedules and coordinates appointments, forwards messages to appropriate staff member.
  • Checks in patients for appointments.
  • Verifies and updates patient information.
  • Checks out patients after their appointment.
  • Reviews and collects co-insurance, deductibles, self-pay and open balances.
  • Reconciles charges and payments at close of day.
  • Sends, receives, and distributes documents.
  • Makes calls for patient reminders and outreach items.
  • Creates a list of office supplies that need to be ordered and gives them to the Supervisor.
  • Consistently displays a positive attitude and a personal commitment to excellence.
  • Attend department meetings and clinic required meetings.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality.
  • Regular and reliable attendance required.
Education/Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One-year experience in a medical office setting preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. The employee frequently is required to sit for long periods of time; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Ability to exercise good judgment and positively influence and lead others, including handling confrontations with poise and efficiency.Repetitive motion of upper body required for extended use of computers and telephones.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position in an outpatient medical business office setting. The estimated schedule is Monday through Friday between the hours of 7am to 7pm and rotating weekends for Immediate Care Clinics. Based on business need, the ability to work a flexible schedule, including some overtime as approved in advance.

Travel:

This position may require travel to other White-Wilson locations.
