Job summary

Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers in Lone Tree is hiring a Receptionist to greet patients, collect demographics and insurance information, and register new patients. The role supports front-office operations, handles co-pays, and assists with chart preparation for daily appointments.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, at least one year of office experience, and strong communication skills. Proficiency with MS Office is a plus.

Overview

Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado's largest and most comprehensive provider of cancer care has an exciting opportunity for a Receptionist in Lonetree (Skyridge Medical Center campus).

Whether we are a nurse holding our patient’s hand, or a scheduler on the phone finding an appointment that fits into a patient’s schedule, we are deeply connected to our patients and do what we can to help.

Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and visitors into the clinic in a prompt, courteous and professional manner.
  • Obtain all appropriate forms as required.
  • Obtain demographic and insurance information. Obtain copy of patient’s insurance cards and current driver's license for file.
  • Update demographic and insurance information as needed in the system.
  • Register all new patients into the system.
  • Notify nursing staff of patient arrivals, placing charts in appointment order.
  • Assist in preparing charts for next day’s appointments and prints schedules as needed.
  • Collect co-pays, deductible and other out of pocket amounts at time of visit. Issues receipts if necessary.
  • Distribute condolence cards to patients families as requested.
  • Maintain lobby area in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Identify no shows and forwards for patient notification.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of patient confidentiality to protect the patient and clinic/corporation.
  • Follow policies and procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the front office.
  • Cover for other front office functions as requested.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum one year office experience, preferably in a medical setting. Must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Proficiency with computer systems a requirement. Microsoft (Outlook, Word, and Excel) a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work may require sitting for long periods of time; also stooping, bending and stretching for files and supplies. Employee is required to be present at the employee site during regularly scheduled business hours and regularly required to sit or stand and talk or hear. Requires manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination for computer work. Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range for telephone contacts.

Salary Range: $18.29-$20.50 Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certification, etc.
