Franklin Biolabs, Inc. is in search of a part-time Receptionist who serves as the first point of contact at Franklin Biolabs. This on-site role supports a professional laboratory and office environment by maintaining front desk coverage, welcoming visitors, managing visitor access and reception processes, coordinating meeting and event logistics, and ensuring a polished, organized, and welcoming experience for clients, vendors, partners, and employees. Key responsibilities include:
- Manage the reception area, assist with answering and directing incoming inquiries as needed, and maintain a clean, organized lobby.
- Greet, sign in, and direct visitors, clients, vendors, and delivery personnel in a professional and courteous manner while following site security and visitor protocols.
- Maintain visitor logs, manage badge/access processes (as directed), and support general administrative tasks related to meetings and office operations.
- Assist with planning and coordination of lunches, catering, and other on-site events or meetings.
- Provide general administrative support, including light data entry, scheduling assistance, and coordinating office supply replenishment as needed.
- Support conference room utilization by assisting with meeting space requests, scheduling conflicts, and conference room coordination.
- Uphold confidentiality and professional standards in accordance with company policies and as appropriate for a regulated environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or relevant coursework preferred.
- 2+ years of related experience (e.g., reception, front-desk, or administrative);
- Experience in a life services, laboratory, or biotech setting is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills with a polished, professional demeanor.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm and organized in a busy environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and basic scheduling/calendar tools.
- Ability to work on-site during assigned part-time hours and maintain consistent attendance.
- Must be able to lift/move light packages and perform general office physical demands.
On-Site & Schedule:
- This is a part-time, non-exempt position requiring on-site presence at our Discovery Labs location in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Hours will be established based on business needs (typically covering core business hours with flexibility for meeting/event support).
Vision:
- Sufficient visual acuity to recognize and greet individuals at various distances, monitor the reception area and entrance, and distinguish basic visual cues related to visitor credentials or safety signage.
- Ability to operate a computer and view monitors for intermittent to extended periods while managing schedules, emails and visitor records.
- Ability to read printed materials, electronic screens, visitor logs, name badges with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to focus and maintain concentration on tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to work in environments with varying light conditions.
