Job summary

Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers in Denver, at the Rose campus, is seeking a friendly receptionist to welcome patients and visitors with professionalism and compassion.

You will collect demographic and insurance information, register new patients, and coordinate with nursing staff to ensure smooth daily operations in the front office. A high school diploma and solid communication skills are required.

This role offers an opportunity to be part of a caring team dedicated to patient experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year office experience preferred, medical setting a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, required.
  • Proficiency with computer systems; Microsoft Office helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and professional manner.
  • Obtain required forms and patient demographic and insurance information.
  • Register new patients and update demographic/insurance data in the system.
  • Notify nursing staff of arrivals and manage chart order.
  • Assist in preparing charts and printing schedules as needed.
  • Collect co-pays, deductibles and other payments; issue receipts.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly lobby area.
  • Identify no-shows and forward for patient notification.
  • Protect patient confidentiality and follow front office policies.
  • Cover other front office duties as requested.

Overview

Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado's largest and most comprehensive provider of cancer care has an exciting opportunity for a Receptionist in our Denver (Rose campus) clinic.

No matter the role each RMCC team member serves in, the goal is the same: to provide the best care possible for each and every one of our patients. Whether we are a nurse holding our patient’s hand, or a scheduler on the phone finding an appointment that fits into a patient’s schedule, we are deeply connected to our patients and do what we can to help.

Responsibilities


  • Greet patients and visitors into the clinic in a prompt, courteous and professional manner.

  • Obtain all appropriate forms as required.

  • Obtain demographic and insurance information. Obtain copy of patient’s insurance cards and current driver's license for file.

  • Update demographic and insurance information as needed in the system.

  • Register all new patients into the system.

  • Notify nursing staff of patient arrivals, placing charts in appointment order.

  • Assist in preparing charts for next day’s appointments and prints schedules as needed.

  • Collect co-pays, deductible and other out of pocket amounts at time of visit. Issues receipts if necessary.

  • Distribute condolence cards to patients families as requested.

  • Maintain lobby area in a neat and orderly manner.

  • Identify no shows and forwards for patient notification.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of patient confidentiality to protect the patient and clinic/corporation.

  • Follow policies and procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the front office.

  • Cover for other front office functions as requested.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum one year office experience, preferably in a medical setting. Must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Proficiency with computer systems a requirement. Microsoft (Outlook, Word, and Excel) a plus.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work may require sitting for long periods of time; also stooping, bending and stretching for files and supplies. Employee is required to be present at the employee site during regularly scheduled business hours and regularly required to sit or stand and talk or hear. Requires manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination for computer work. Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range for telephone contacts.


Salary Range: $18.29-$20.50 Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certification, etc. As of the date of this posting, in addition to your salary, RMCC offers the following benefits for this position, subject to eligibility requirements: Health, dental, and vision plans; wellness program; health savings account; flexible spending accounts; 401(k) retirement plan; life insurance, short-term disability insurance; long-term disability insurance, Employee Assistance Program; PTO, holiday pay, tuition reimbursement, and employee paid critical illness and accident insurance.
