A leading behavioral health center is seeking a Reception and Engagement Assistant to perform clerical and reception duties. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a high school diploma, and the ability to manage office tasks efficiently. This part-time, on-call role offers flexibility and involvement in client care.
Starting Wage: $16.33/hour
GENERAL PURPOSE:
Performsa variety of complex secretarial, clerical and records maintenance duties asneeded to expedite the delivery of services and programs provided through andcoordinated by the mental health department.Performs routine reception and communication duties as needed to receiveand direct incoming telephone calls and clients.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Worksunder the general supervision of the assigned Office Manager or Lead.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
None.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
Operates personal computer terminal to utilizevarious word and data processing programs as needed to type departmentalrecords, technical and/or statistical reports, file information, and generalcorrespondence; may transcribe from dictation equipment.
Maintains records, files, indexes and booksaccording to established methods and procedures; compiles and tabulates datafor records and reports; keeps books requiring ledger entries related to pettycash account and program revenues; reviews account balances to assure currentposting and accuracy.
Receives telephone and personal callers;responds to routine and non-technical questions; directs specific and technicalquestions to appropriate staff member.
May perform as backup to other secretarial orclerical personnel related to computer operations, general office maintenanceor other related functions.
May perform initial intake on clients,completing paperwork, inputting information in computer system making sure allinformation is accurate and complete.
Performsother related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Education and Experience:
A. High School Diploma or GED;
AND
B. One (1) year of responsible clerical and secretarial experience preferred;
OR
C. An equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Ability to pass a background check
3. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of:
· telephone and interpersonal communication etiquette;
· general office maintenance and practices;
· recording and filing procedures and methodologies;
· operation of standard office equipment;
· basic mathematics;
· basic public relations.
Ability to:
· communicate effectively, verbally and in writing;
· perform basic mathematical calculations;
· operate standard office equipment;
· develop effective working relationships with supervisors, fellow employees, and the public;
· work independently and manage work assignments in a high interpersonal contact environment;
· demonstrate maturity necessary in dealing with sensitive and confidential material.
Skilled in:
· 10-key by touch,
· ability to establish priorities,
· work independently and proceeds with objectives without supervision,
· able to handle and resolve recurring problems.
4.Special Qualifications:
A. Type 40 wpm.
B. CPR/First Aid certification (within 30 daysand upon expiration)
