Job summary

Cheney Brothers, Inc. in Ocala, FL is seeking a receiving dock associate to oversee the receiving area, inspect and log materials, and ensure accurate labeling and storage.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 6–12 months warehouse/distribution experience.
• Able to work scheduled hours and overtime.
• Able to stand, walk, reach and lift repeatedly.
• Able to lift 10–35 lbs and up to 80 lbs occasionally.
• Able to work in multi-temperature environments.
• Pass pre-employment drug test.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety policies and procedures per company guidelines.
• Review schedule, perform safety checks on equipment, obtain supplies.
• Wear all required PPE and safety gear.
• Meet productivity and accuracy standards per location.
• Open loading dock doors, set dock plate, prepare area to receive goods.
• Inspect incoming trailers and verify they meet quality standards.
• Receive products, verify against bill of lading, record counts.
• Perform damage checks and report items per policy if needed.
• Identify, label and store supplies; enter PO data into inventory system.
• Coordinate/unload and transport items to staging areas with forklift/pallet jack.
• Operate forklift and pallet handling equipment as needed.
• Keep warehouse, dock and trailers clean and organized.
• Complete vehicle inspection and secure equipment at shift end.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
