Base pay range

$19.00/hr - $23.00/hr

Gertens Family of Businesses is seeking an experienced Receiving Specialist to join our warehouse team. This role is responsible for the accurate verification, documentation, and processing of incoming and outgoing shipments, with a strong emphasis on inventory management and receiving protocols. The ideal candidate will bring prior hands-on experience in both receiving operations and inventory control, ensuring efficient and compliant warehouse processes.

Location: Eagan, MN

Shift: M-F 7a – 4p with OT on Saturday during peak seasons

This is a full time, year-round position

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately compare identifying information and inspect shipment contents to verify against bills of lading, invoices, and purchase orders.
• Receive, stock, and examine incoming shipments; reject damaged goods, record shortages, and communicate with shippers to resolve issues.
• Work closely with the purchasing team to resolve purchase order discrepancies and issues.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and participate in inventory audits.
• Complete daily receiving tasks, including end-of-day receipt postings.
• Perform general warehouse duties as needed across departments.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all safety protocols and report any potential safety concerns.
• Support continuous improvement efforts in quality, efficiency, and compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in receiving and inventory management within a warehouse or distribution environment.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, policies, and work instructions.
• Proficient in communication (verbal and written) and capable of working with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with barcode systems and automatic data collection preferred.
• Ability to work overtime, irregular hours, or rotating shifts as needed.
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear.
• Frequent use of hands for handling objects, tools, or controls.
• Occasionally required to sit, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Visual acuity required for close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
