Job summary

Tops is seeking a Receiver to inspect, count, and verify all merchandise entering the store and to manage the flow of deliveries with priority handling and safe storage.

The role supports shrink control, proper paperwork, and equipment operation while maintaining a clean, safe backroom area and active communication with vendors. This full-time position requires reliability and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions.
• Possess basic computer skills.
• Possess strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow all company policies regarding receiving operations, safety and sanitation.
• Complete all necessary paperwork relating to Receiving (KLT for damages).
• Maintain shrink control procedures through verification, costs/retails of vendor deliveries, checking credits leaving the store, processing damages, utilizing DSD computer, and securing store stamps.
• Communicate and give direction regularly to store vendors.
• Use proper recycling procedures to include refuse, cardboard, and plastic.
• Maintain proper salvage procedures, including pallets, crates, totes, bins, bales and proper loading of salvage trailer.
• Ensure safe and clean work area, including sweeping, mopping, and clearing all unsafe conditions.
• Maintain all backroom equipment (pallet jacks, walkie stacker), including daily maintenance reports.
