The beautiful Shangri-La Resort, located at the tip of Monkey Island in the center of northeast Oklahoma's Grand Lake O' the Cherokees, is currently taking applications for seasonal part-time Receiving/Purchasing Clerk. JOB OVERVIEW:

Under the direct supervision of the Receiving and Purchasing Manager with a positive personality. Conduct inventory audits to determine inventory levels and needs. Complete requisition forms for supplies needed. Verify and track received inventory and complete the necessary reports and logs. Reconcile shipping invoices and receiving reports to ensure accuracy. Receive, unload, and process deliveries to our facilities. Troubleshoot vendor delivery issues and oversee return processes. Adhere to food safety and handling policies and procedures across all food - related areas.

REPORTSTO: Purchasing Manager

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Manage and organize stockroom materials along with reordering of parts as necessary.
  • Verify all shipments and disburse to the appropriate areas and departments.
  • Safely operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
  • Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services.
  • Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, and availability.
  • Continuously work to improve cost and minimize downtime.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of the entire work area.
  • Effectively operates and enters orders into the Point of Sale (POS) system with little to no mistakes.
  • Consolidate products and/or pallets to ensure effective usage of space.
  • Some knowledge of mechanical parts required for machinery preventative and routine maintenance.
  • Assists in the daily operation of the facilities in an efficient, cost effective and labor effective manner.
  • Contributes to the training of new team members.
  • Serve as a liaison between management, facilities, and supply teams to maintain and assure accurate receiving and inventory transactions.
  • Travel between Shangri-La properties may be needed.
  • Contributions as a team effort and accomplish related results as necessary.
  • Maintaining all documentation as needed, such as pick sheets, purchase orders, and any other documents pertaining to orders and/or shipments for accounting and tracking purposes.
  • The need to load or unload trucks may be needed as necessary.
  • Identifying and annotating overages, shortages, and damages (OS&D) when applicable.
  • Due to changes and modification in the job from time to time, we require team members to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as management sees the necessity; some assignments may not be listed in this description.
  • Always maintaining professional appearance, etiquette, punctuality, and attendance.
  • Be adaptable with a willingness to learn new skills and/or improve existing ones.
  • Safety and security protocols set forth by the employer are to be followed with the upmost importance to
  • ensure the safety of our guests and staff.
  • The ability to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift.
  • The ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • May need to move through narrow, confined, elevated, slippery, crowded spaces and surfaces.
  • The ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, and stooping.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Related experience is preferred but not required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Must be able to obtain a Food Handlers Permit.
  • Must have basic math and computer skills.
  • Must have the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Must be able to maintain professional status through interface with customers, management, and co-workers.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules, including but not limited to extended hours, irregular shifts, evenings, holidays, and/or weekends.
Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to stand and walk for extended periods; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee occasionally is required to sit; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and lift more than 50lbs. Physical stamina and a proper mental attitude to work under pressure at a fast pace are essential. Must have the mental fortitude to handle the pressures of multiple tasks while providing excellent guest service.

Work Environment:

The duties of this position are primarily performed in indoor climate conditions.
