Job description

The Receiving Lead will oversee and participate with the unloading, receiving and storing processes of all inbound and the staging of material for the following day’s production. The Lead will be responsible for ensuring the team stays on task and completes daily work activities. The Lead inspires, motivates, and provides guidance to employees to meet daily tasks and reach certain goals.

Essential Functions

  • Assist in training new hires.
  • Assist the operators to keep things moving smoothly.
  • Ensure all employees are completing forklift inspection forms.
  • Ensure employees take breaks & lunches at the required times.
  • Address warehouse issues with Supervisor such as inventory discrepancies, personnel coordination, job responsibilities, and scheduling issues.
  • Ensure loading/unloading, labeling, stacking/staging, and clearing out MSA is done in a timely and safe manner.
  • Ensure employees are properly trained and following the staging process in the warehouse.
  • Ensure staging lanes are fully stocked to maintain continuous productivity in Assembly.
  • Coordinate and monitor operations to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Ensure accuracy and quality standards for products and maintain inventory records for audits.
  • Allocate necessary space for stock rotation and assist with proper FIFO process.
  • Supply production areas with materials using FIFO to ensure flow of production.
  • Lead, support, and adhere to the Company’s Safety Program.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Proactively identify and report possible safety hazards.
  • Timely report accidents or near miss incidents as required by the Safety Program.
  • Ensure all products are stored in conditions necessary to maintain quality.
  • Assist in daily scheduled production in all areas, ensuring efficient and productive work.
  • Monitor shift workers and equipment and report any problems to warehouse supervisor.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and set expectations for employees with Supervisor support.

  • Working knowledge of web-based inventory.
  • Basic computer knowledge with Windows-based programs (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Self-motivated and able to work with little supervision.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Bending and reaching are frequently required.

The office/warehouse environment is both a controlled and uncontrolled atmosphere. The manufacturing environment exposes employees to dust, odors, and noise. Extensive visits to the outdoor shipping dock and holding yard are required.
