Job summary

Thales Defense & Security, Inc. in Clarksburg, MD, is hiring a Receiving Inspector to join the quality team on first shift.

You will inspect COTS and custom materials against OEM drawings, perform electrical testing, report nonconformances, and support continuous inspection activities in a defense environment. First shift runs 6 am–3:30 pm; the position requires US citizenship, 2–4 years in receiving inspection, ASQ CQI preferred, IPC-A certifications, and strong measurement tool proficiency; MS

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required; eligible for access to classified information.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; fluent in English.
• High school diploma.
• 2–4 years experience in receiving inspection or related technical environment.
• ASQ CQI certification preferred; familiar with CQI Body of Knowledge.
• IPC-A-610 and IPC-A-600 certifications required; obtain within 6 months.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical/cable drawings and specs.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
• Walk/stand up to 9 hours; work with various materials and tools.

Responsibilities

• Inspect to determine acceptability of COTS materials to OEM data sheets.
• Inspect custom materials to engineering drawings and process documents.
• Perform continuity testing for opens and shorts on cables.
• Perform electrical testing on custom assemblies.
• Identify and report nonconforming material.
• Use AOQ knowledge to perform inspections; operate gages and measuring tools.
