Job summary

Thales Defense & Security, Inc. in Clarksburg, MD seeks a Receiving Inspector on First Shift (6:00 am–3:30 pm) to verify COTS and custom materials against drawings. You will perform electrical tests, report nonconforming items, and use precision gages and QA methodologies daily.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years in inspection, strong English communication, and the ability to lift 50 lbs. IPC-Certifications and CQI knowledge are valued; U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required for government security access.
• Excellent verbal and written communications in English.
• High school diploma is required.
• 2–4 years in receiving inspection or related technical environment.
• ASQ CQI certification preferred; familiar with Body of Knowledge.
• IPC-A-610 and IPC-A-600 certifications required (within 6 months).
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical/cable drawings and datasheets.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work up to 9 hours/day.

Responsibilities

• Inspect COTS materials against OEM data sheets for acceptability.
• Inspect custom materials to drawings and process documents.
• Perform continuity and electrical testing on cables/assemblies.
• Identify nonconforming material and report findings.
• Use CQI Body of Knowledge in inspections.
• Operate inspection gauges and micrometers/calipers efficiently.
