Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of electrical inspection experience.
  • IPC-A-600 certification must be obtained after hire; IDEA-ICE-3000 certification also required after hire.

Responsibilities

  • Perform first piece / first article inspections.
  • Perform receiving inspection on raw materials, in-process inspection, and final inspection on completed assemblies per documentation.
  • Inspect a variety of electronic components and assemblies such as PC boards, connectors with wires, and molded parts.
  • Check availability of tools, equipment, and materials; relocate as needed; prepare the workspace.
  • Ensure all paperwork is complete and previous operations are documented as required.
  • Complete rejected material dispositions (RMD) paperwork and process for approval.
  • Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment.
  • Provide technical support to co-workers, suppliers, or customers; assist in solving problems.
  • May provide on-the-job-training for other inspectors.
  • Work overtime as required.

Receiving Inspector

As a Receiving Inspector, you’ll help make sure the materials and electronic components we receive meet our quality standards before they move into production. You may inspect incoming materials, work-in-process, or completed assemblies using tools, drawings, and other specifications to verify everything meets requirements and is documented correctly.

You’ll work with a variety of electronic components and assemblies, identify quality issues, complete inspection records, and help resolve problems when they arise. Attention to detail is important because your work helps ensure we deliver high-quality products to our customers.

Job Summary

  • Performfirst piece / first article inspections.
  • Performreceiving inspection on raw materials, in-process inspection on work inprogress, final inspection on completed assemblies per documentationand record results.
  • Inspecta variety of electronic components and assemblies such as printed wiringboards, connectors with attached wires, flexible circuits, crimped orsoldered wires, a variety of molded parts and/or the use of such materialsin electronic arrangements of various degrees of complexity.
  • Checkfor availability of tools, equipment and materials; receive or relocatematerials from preceding operation or storage area as needed; arrange workplace, equipment and materials for proper working procedure as required.
  • Ensureall required paperwork is received and previous operations indicated onthe documents are completed in accordance with established proceduresprior to conducting an inspection.
  • Completerejected material dispositions (RMD) paperwork and process for approval.
  • Maintainand where required, calibrate equipment used in inspection andmanufacturing processes.
  • Providetechnical support to co-workers, suppliers or customers, includingidentifying and correcting specific problems.
  • Mayprovide on-the-job-training (OJT) for other inspectors.
  • Performother assignments as required.
  • Workmandatory overtime as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficientuse of inspection tools and associated technical documents including butnot limited to the following: voltmeters, micrometers, hand stamp,eye loop, pedestal mounted magnifying glass or scope with light,in-process work sheets, drawings, blueprints, specifications sheets, billsof material, a variety of jigs and fixtures for examining components andassemblies and calibrated measuring rules.
  • Excellentwritten and verbal skills to interact with people at all levels inside andoutside of Ducommun.
  • Knowledgeof required standards, as identified in training matrix, including ISO andMil Specs.
  • Intermediatelevel computer proficiency including e-mail, Word, and Excel.
  • Musthave good documentation skills; attention to detail is critical.

Required Experience and Education

  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years of electrical inspection experience.

Licenses, Certifications, etc.

  • Must obtain IPC-A-600 certification for bare board inspection after hire.
  • Must obtain IDEA-ICE-3000 certification for counterfeit component identification after hire.
  • Training and certification will be provided by Ducommun.
