Job summary

American Rheinmetall Vehicles seeks a Receiving Inspector to oversee inspections at multiple stages of production and to compile and evaluate data to ensure product quality and reliability.

The role requires reading engineering drawings, performing tests, recording results, and ensuring compliance with AS9100 and related processes. A GED or high school diploma and 3–5 years of manufacturing experience are required, with location in Plymouth, MI.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings, select products for tests, and determine quality standards.
• Gauge control and calibration.

• Follow AQL sampling plans according to QAP/QAR when specified.
• Perform tests on materials/products to measure dimensions, performance or characteristics.
• Record test data and apply statistical quality control procedures.
• Evaluate data and write reports indicating deviations from standards.
• Set up and perform destructive and nondestructive tests on materials or products.
• Prepare graphs or charts and input data for analysis.

Summary

Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
• Gauge control/calibration
• Ensures compliance to the process for the Control of Records.
• Ensures compliance to the Document Control Process.
• Ensures compliance to the customers AQL sampling plan according to the QAP / QAR when specified
• Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics.
• Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
• Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
• Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
• Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for analysis.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
