Job summary

Qualified candidates will have 2+ years of industrial inspection experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate with suppliers and government representatives. On-site duties include audits and reported inspections.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of inspection experience in an industrial environment; government contracts a plus.
• Must follow directions, work independently, and be detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Receive, quality check, label all incoming inventory.
• Compare quantity and part numbers with procurement data to ensure order accuracy.
• Inspect purchased parts and materials for conformance to specifications.
• Inspect items for defects and dimensional accuracy per prints and standards.
• Approve or reject items and record inspection results.
• Review certification documents for compliance with PO and specs.
• Travel to material suppliers for inspections and audits as needed.
• Interface with customers and government representatives regarding material compliance.

Job description

DC Fabricators (DCF) is seeking a talented Receiving Inspector to join our team. This is an on‑site position reporting to our manufacturing facility in Florence, NJ.

This position is primarily concerned with overseeing the receipt & initial quality inspection of delivered material. Receipt inspection includes inspection of the physical material, as well as review of the manufacturing related documentation to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.

Essential Functions:

• Receive, quality check, label all incoming inventory
• Compares quantity and part number of items received with procurement data and other specifications to ensure completeness and accuracy of order.
• Inspects purchased parts & materials for conformance to specifications.
• Examines items for defects in materials, workmanship, and damage occurring in transit, inspects and measures items for dimensional accuracy, fit, alignment, and functional operation, according to prints, company standards, and other specifications.
• Approves or rejects items, and records inspection and disposition information.
• Reviews certification document package to ensure compliance to Purchase Order and Specification Requirements.
• Resolve any issues/discrepancies with the material supplier.
• Periodic travel to material suppliers to perform dimensional inspections and surveillance.
• Perform internal audits as required.
• Interface with customer and government representatives regarding material compliance and PMI inspections and resolve issues as necessary.
• Provide written reports as required.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Accuracy – ability to analyze/interpret production and technical data.
• Detail oriented – attention to detail required assuring that dimensional inspection/NDE requirements are met and documented.
• Ethical – assure work is performed without legitimate complaint of unethical or unfair treatment. Must exhibit a high degree of ethical conduct.
• Honesty/Integrity – must be viewed as truthful and credible in the workplace and by customers.
• Organized – ability to organize input from various internal disciplines into the work product.

Education:

High school graduate, or the equivalent.

Experience:

Minimum of two years of Inspection experience in an industrial environment. Experience with Government contracts is a plus.

Skills & Abilities:

• Must have the ability to work on multiple projects within the same day.
• Must have the ability to follow directions, work independently and with minimal supervision.
• Must be detail-oriented.
• Must apply individual initiative to accomplish the necessary inspections and conduct audits to assure compliance with required processes.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Computer Skills:

Computer skills required. Must have a working knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft applications such as WORD, Excel, and Outlook.
