Job summary

Veolia, in North America, is seeking a Receiving Supervisor to oversee inbound waste, coordinate production planning, and act as a technical resource for the team. You will ensure accurate entry of waste data for proper disposal and billing, while maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations.

You will lead staff, drive safety programs, review production summaries, and work with plant management to ensure efficient operations and compliance with evolving standards.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in environmental field preferred or equivalent work experience.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER training current or ability to obtain.
• 2+ years hazardous waste management experience in operations receiving waste.
• Knowledge of RCRA and DOT regulations preferred.
• Experience with team building and employee engagement.

Responsibilities

• Manage inbound waste from service centers and other waste sources.

• Maintain documentation and manifests for waste entering facility.
• Oversee outbound shipping strategies and coach staff.

Job Description

Under the guidance of the Outbound Manager, theReceiving Supervisorwill oversee receiving operations, plan office production, and act as a technical resource for the team. TheReceivingSupervisorwill reviewinboundwaste streams.The Receiving Supervisor ensures that all incoming waste is accurately entered into the inventory tracking system for proper management, disposal, and billing.Utilizing their strong leadership skills, theReceiving Supervisorwill ensure their staffinputall waste in compliance with Clean Earth’s policy andapplicablelocal, state, and federal regulations.TheReceivingSupervisor will coordinate regularly with Plant management to ensure safe, proper, and consistent handling of allinboundwaste.

Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions

Inbound

• Manage inbound waste fromservice centersand other waste sources, ensuring efficient and compliant operations.
• Provide insights onwaste entering inventory that requireslab testing.
• Keep informed about updates in lab testing regulations and industry standards.
• Accept waste for processing, ensuring it meets company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintains proper documentation and manifests for waste entering facility according to State and Federal requirements.

Outbound

• Offerexpertiseon outbound shipping strategies and methods, providing recommendations for improvement.
• Direct, coach, and develop employees, ensuring they meet operational needs and compliance with company policies.
• Review Weekly and Monthly Production summaries.
• Keep informed about updates in supply management regulations and industry standards.
• Implement safety protocols and compliance measures to ensure operational efficiency and regulatory adherence.
• Stay updated on changes in cost management regulations and industry standards and provide recommendations for improvement.

Performs other related duties and/or project work asrequiredor requested.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly without assistance and up to 75 pounds unassisted on occasion.
• Ability to push and pull up to 500 pounds using a pallet jack, hand truck, or other device to assist.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and indoors in non-climate-controlled environments.
• Visual acuity to read labels and documentation and sufficient depth perception to safely operate forklifts.
• Ability to hear vehicle warning chimes, alarms, and other audible safety signals.
• Ability and willingness to wear company-issued personal protection equipment (PPE), including, but not limited to, safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed boots, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator.
• Ability to work overtime hours as needed based on business needs.
• Willingness and ability to travel via automobile, commercial airline and other public transportation as needed 10% or less of the time.

Qualifications

• Education: (BA or BS degree required or preferred)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s degree in an environmental-related field preferred or equivalent work experience
• Experience: (Required minimum of years of relevant experience.)
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER training completed and current or ability to obtain
  • 2+ years of progressive environmental/hazardous waste management experience working in an operations capacity inreceivingwaste or materials management
  • Experience in the hazardous waste industry and general knowledge of RCRA and Department of Transportation (DoT) regulations as it relates to the transportation and processing of waste is preferred
  • Experience in team building and collaboration
  • Experience with employee engagement strategies and practices
