Job summary

Smith Gardens Inc. is seeking a Receiving Clerk on the California Central Coast to efficiently handle incoming and outgoing shipments, maintain inventory records, and support production flow.

The role requires forklift operation and precise data entry to keep materials available for production teams. Candidates should have 1–2 years in receiving or warehousing, be fluent in English, and complete forklift certification after 30 days.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in receiving, warehousing, or inventory control in horticulture or agricultural settings.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Experience operating forklift or material handling equipment is highly desirable.
• Forklift certification required after 30 days; onsite training provided.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and verify materials delivered to site.
• Maintain receiving log daily and accurate counts of goods.
• Inspect shipments for damages and discrepancies; report issues.
• Assist Production Team with inventory/cycle counting.
• Operate forklift and other equipment to unload/load shipments.
• Keep inventory areas clean and organized.
• Support production leadership to prevent downtime.
