What We Expect

Location: Byhalia, MS

Responsible for preparing orders for freight, sorting freight into subplants, express or parcel post shipments in accordance with shipping practices and requirements; assembling and checking orders, packing and crating, and attaching or stenciling shipping instructions. Enter receiving slips into the computer for any material delivered, make labels for each box, and stack on skids by delivery area.

Essential Job Functions:

• Ensures packing lists are entered into the computer, along with bills of lading, express receipts, and other systems as required.
• Ability to manually load and unload trucks and freight cars when necessary.
• Visually analyze and verify correct weights of items on bills of lading and express tickets.
• Follow oral and written instructions accurately.
• Prepare daily shipping reports.
• Receive and sign for materials, verify counts and descriptions, enter receiving tickets, and use clerical knowledge to enter slips into the computer.
• Use barcode systems to enter and ship transactions, operate scan guns, printers, and label machines.
• Obtain and maintain certifications for overhead cranes and forklifts, and operate them safely.
• Work shift work, overtime, and weekends as required.

This is a safety-sensitive position.

Who We Are Looking For

Education & Experience:

• One or more years of work experience in a lean/continuous improvement environment preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
• General mechanical experience maintaining equipment preferred.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes.
• Proficient in written and oral communication.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and anticipate needs.
