Job summary

Westlake Chemical Corporation is seeking a Receiving Clerk to maintain raw goods inventory, manage shipment schedules, and input counts into JDE. This role requires a hands-on team player who ensures accuracy and accountability in everyday operations.

You will inspect incoming and outgoing orders for damages, facilitate small-pack shipments, cycle counts, and safe forklift handling. Experience with 50-pound lifts and 5S is valued.

Job description

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for maintaining all raw goods inventory. Keep track of shipment schedules for both incoming and outgoing shipments. Input inventory counts into JDE. Inspect all shipments for damages or discrepancies in all incoming and outgoing orders. Gathering orders for small packaging to ship LTL or FedEx. This position must work in a team environment and have personal accountability.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Comply with Westlake Safety Policies and Procedures.

• Set,Start-up,Monitor, and Maintain upcut/double miter saws operations.

• Ensuring no damaged items are sent.

• Comparing packing lists to company purchase orders and ensuring the products in each delivery match the packing list without damage.

• Input correct information onto JDE system using computer or scan gun.

• Prepare shipments of small pack products (screws, kits, and glue) using JDE and or small packaging and LTL software.

• Packaging products for return to vendors and filling out any paperwork necessary.

• Cycle counts on screws, kits, and glue products and physical inventory.

• Safely load and unload trucks.

• Load and inventory pushback racking system.

• Efficiently process paperwork.

• Be able to effectively communicate to management with any problems.

• Receiving MRO at the direction of Production Planning & Order fulfilment manager, Planning S&OP.

• Operate Forklift and other related Powered Industrial Vehicles and tools.

• Implement and sustain 5S methodologies in work area.

• Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Strong professional communication skills, both verbal and in writing.

• Intermediate level in Microsoft Word, Excel,Email etc.

• Strong organizational skills, detailed oriented, self-motivated, and ability to multi-task

• Be able to pass a forklift test and maintain the required forklift license.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

The employee should have the following:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• 1-2 years' experience in a relevant field.

The employee should possess the ability to:

• Prolong standing or in stationary position.

• Repetitive reaching over product.

• Complete repetitive movements.

• Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable.

• Wear all required personal protective equipment.

• Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to move or traverse about the facilities.

• Must be able to ascend/descend stairs or ladders.

• Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions.
