Job summary

Clean Harbors' Cincinnati, OH facility is seeking a Receiving Chemist to manage drum receiving and coding, perform QC/drum sampling, data entry, and related warehouse duties in a fast-paced industrial setting. Shift: 1st 7-3 Mon-Fri, Up to $34 per hour, based on experience.

The role uses the WIN system for receiving, routing and billing, requires forklift use, and a safety-first mindset with opportunity for career growth and company benefits.

Qualifications

  • Experience in warehouse, quality control, chemical handling, laboratory, or inventory management.
  • Forklift experience is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures Health and Safety as a priority by following safe practices and policies.
  • Receives incoming containers and assigns proper disposal or outbound profile.
  • Performs basic chemical analysis on samples and documents results.
  • Completes paperwork for consolidation and tracks waste via WIN software.
  • Maintains SOP knowledge and operates forklift as needed.
  • Calibrates lab instrumentation and ensures QA/QC compliance.
  • Communicates information to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Tracks containers in real time using WIN and barcode scanners.

Job description

Clean Harbors Incineration unit is seeking a Receiving Chemist for our Cincinnati, OH facility will be responsible for drum receiving/coding, within the Company’s industrial warehouse. QC/drum sampling to determine final code for waste disposal/ data entry/ some forklift/warehousing duties
Shift: 1st 7-3 Mon-Fri
Up to $34 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times
  • Receives all incoming containers, assures all containers are assigned proper disposal process code and/or outbound profile, responsible for knowledge of Clean Harbors proprietary WIN system applicable to receiving, routing and billing of drums;
  • Samples all incoming containers and performs basic chemical analysis of samples following prescribed procedures;
  • Completes all paperwork associated with consolidation process and performs waste tracking operations through Clean Harbors proprietary software, WIN;
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of all applicable Standard Operating Procedure’s
  • Use of forklift to offload and re-load drums and transport containers throughout the warehouse as needed
  • Calibrates and utilizes lab instrumentation required to run basic analysis, completes all paperwork associated with analysis and drum sampling, ensures that all work meets applicable QA/QC guidelines;
  • Conveys critical verbal and written information to internal and external stakeholders;
  • Ensures real time tracking of all containers via Clean Harbors WIN system in conjunction with handheld barcode scanners;
  • Supply management in their area of responsibility, and best management practices including proper housekeeping.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in one or more of the following fields preferred: Warehouse, Quality Control, Chemical Handling, Laboratory, or Inventory Management;
  • Previous forklift operating experience a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills;
  • Ability to work independently and in team environment
  • Proficiency in Windows based applications
  • Climb on and off forklifts
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs from the ground to your waste
  • Climb up and down vertical ladders
  • Capable of reaching out, over and down exerting a force
  • 20/20 eyesight corrected or uncorrected - depth perception is critical
  • 10 pushups, deep knee squats and sit-ups (to determine if fit)
  • Good hand/eye coordination
  • Valid Driver's License required
