POSITION SUMMARY:
Receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within establishments by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Unloads incoming raw material, purchased parts, and outsourced goods.
- Weighs or counts material that is received and verifies to the packing list with the goods.
- Records amount of material received into our MRP system.
- Marks materials with identifying information. Opens bales, crates, and other containers.
- Conveys materials and items from receiving to the appropriate production or storage areas.
- Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Responsible for ensuring all receiving paperwork is delivered to the Accounts Payable Department.
- Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line.
- Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
- Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
- Uses computer to enter records.
- Prepares parcels for mailing.
- Maintains inventory records.
- Loads products in preparation for shipping.
- Ability to read tape measure accurately.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Six months experience as Shipping/ Warehouse B.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole, fractional and decimal numbers.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Handle problems involving variables in a standardized situation.
- Ability to make decisions and know when/where to make concessions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Employee is frequently required to stand; walk
- Employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms
- Employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Employee is required to talk or hear.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions
- The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places.
- Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
