Job summary

FALL CREEK FARM & NURSERY is seeking a Receiver Shipper to locate and move material to the shipping area, prepare loads for shipment, label and weigh loads, and use computer systems for ship/receive transactions. The role unloads incoming vendor materials and ensures accurate packing slips and proper storage.

The successful candidate will verify shipments, retrieve materials from storage for shipping/production, assist with material handling across the plant, and keep the work area clean and

Responsibilities

• Locate and transport material to be shipped to the shipping area.
• Prepare and protect loads for shipment as required. Place labels on loads, weigh and record weight and load materials on trucks.
• Perform transactions using computer and hand held units to ship and receive materials.
• Unload trucks of incoming vendor materials and deliver to the proper storage area including tankers where applicable.
• Report/record any damage of incoming goods before removing from truck to management
• Verify incoming and outgoing shipments are as noted on packing slip.
• Obtain materials from storage for both shipment and production, as required.
• Assist in other material handling throughout plant as needed.
• Maintain work area in clean and orderly condition.
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
