Job summary

Carnegie Mellon University’s Facilities Management is seeking a Receiver for the 2nd shift (3:00pm – 11:00pm, Mon-Fri, exact times may vary). You will receive and manage packages, perform data entry, and support campus operations with inventory control and delivery preparation.

Responsibilities include loading and unloading, assisting with counts, and driving when needed. Candidates should have a HS diploma, PA driver’s license, and 1 year in receiving/delivering packages; training provided.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and decipher packing lists, addresses and purchase orders.
  • Familiarity with inventory systems and basic math.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, store, pick, distribute, inspect, and reconcile packages.
  • Enter data into computer systems and logbooks; take orders via phone, fax, or email.
  • Load, secure, and unload vehicles; assist with warehouse organization and counts.
  • Drive university vehicles when required; perform heavy labor in confined spaces.

## Receiver - Facilities Management ServicesApplylocations: Pittsburgh, PAtime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Todayjob requisition id: 2024975Carnegie Mellon University's department of Facilities Management (FMS) is searching for a **Receiver** to work the 2nd shift**(**3:00pm – 11:00pm Monday- Friday, subject to change based on department needs). In this role you will perform various material handling functions to receive, store, select, distribute, inspect, and reconcile all incoming and outgoing packages, and prepare packages to be shipped out by common carrier.***Core responsibilities include:**** Complete data entry into a computer or assigned logbooks, maintain accurate records, take orders from customers over the phone, fax, and e-mail, and charge inventory items (janitorial supplies, bulk paper, or stationery supplies) to customers and label packages for destination.* Assist with the organization and storage of university property in the warehouse and pulled items from storage and prepare them for delivery to campus.* Loading, securing, and unloading vehicles.* Assist with physical counts of warehouse material.* In the absence of the truck driver, this position may be required to fill-in and be responsible for driving all types of vehicles operated by the department of University Receiving & Stores for pickup and delivery of materials.Adaptability, excellence, and passion are vital qualities within Carnegie Mellon University. Must be able to deal with difficult people effectively* Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and call-out work***Qualifications:**** High School diploma or equivalent* Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license (or equivalent for out-of-state applicants) no moving violations to operate 25' long cargo truck with either manual or automatic transmission* One year experience in receiving and delivering packages* A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered**Requirements:*** Background check + MVR* Valid PA driver's license* Fitness for duty assessment and pre-employment medical exam* Pre-employment drug and alcohol screen* Child Protective Clearance - Act 153**Additional Information:*** Sponsorship: Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work for CMU in the United States.
