Job summary

Associated Wholesale Grocers, Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Receiver to accurately identify, verify, and record inbound shipments while ensuring product and packaging quality. You will guide teammates in sorting, staging, and flowing inbound products through the receiving area.

Responsibilities include matching shipped items to pallet labels, confirming descriptions and UPCs, noting damages, and maintaining organized dock operations in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Qualifications

  • Education or equivalent experience is required (Degree or equivalent; or 1–2 years related experience).
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Collect pallet labels from the receiving office for loads in the assigned doors.
  • Verify the correct product, description, pack size, and UPC against pallet labels.
  • Check product stacking per ti/hi on pallet labels and breakdown sheets.
  • Apply pallet labels on top layer right side of pallets and scan."
  • Scan pallet labels and enter expiration dates.
  • Notate damages, overages, or shortages on summary labels.
  • Ensure lumpers/drivers keep the dock clean and product is staged correctly.
  • Assist lift drivers in doors clearance to finish loading.
  • Perform other duties as requested by Warehouse Manager.

Current schedules is Sunday - Friday and off Saturday and one other day

SUMMARY: Accurately identifies, verify, records and receives inbound shipments and to insures product and packaging quality. Receivers work with and instruct other individuals in ensuring proper sorting, segregating, staging and flowing of inbound products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Collect pallet labels from the receiving office for the loads that are in the assigned doors.
  • Verify the correct product was shipped, making sure the description, pack size, and UPC code on the case matches the pallet label.
  • Verify the product is properly stacked according to the ti/hi that is notated on the pallet label and the breakdown sheet.
  • Apply the pallet label on the top layer on the right side of the pallet and scan the pallet label.
  • Scan pallet labels and enter in the expiration date.
  • Notate any damage, overages or shortages on the loads on the summery labels.
  • Make sure the lumpers or drivers keep the dock clean and make sure the product is being staged in the proper lanes.
  • Make sure the lift drivers are clearing out the doors that need room to finish.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Warehouse Manager.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Degree or equivalent; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
