Job summary

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience; ability to understand schematics, prints, instructions, and P&ID’s.
  • Knowledge of equipment in the production facility is preferred.
  • Ability to work extended hours on the plant floor, with regular lifting, bending, and stretching.

Job description

Rebuild Technician

The Rebuild Technician is responsible for executing the site’s rebuild program, implementing improvements in rebuild strategies, delivering solutions that reduce downtime and improve cost/value. They ensure equipment remains safe, reliable, and efficient.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine inspections, cleaning, and lubrication of machinery.
  • Train mechanics on routine PM program; measure and report competency to management.
  • Dismantle, repair, and rebuild critical factory equipment.
  • Identify and implement improvement strategies through parts selection and equipment modifications.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis to provide creative solutions that reduce or eliminate downtime.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to maintenance teams.
  • Accountable to KPIs including Downtime Reduction, Reduced Parts Cost, Reduced External Labor Cost.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to achieve organizational goals.
  • Manage budgets and resources to support operational excellence initiatives.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Extensive experience with poultry equipment: a track record of rebuilding, maintaining, and improving mechanical equipment.
  • Strong coaching and communication skills; ability to develop mechanics and report operational risk to management.
  • Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and fabrication skills.
  • Analytical and problem‑solving skills; ability to identify root causes, develop solutions, and measure impact.
  • Preferred advanced mechanical and electrical skills, including controls and PLCs.
  • Ability to work extended hours on the plant floor, with regular lifting, bending, stretching.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience; ability to understand schematics, prints, instructions, and P&ID’s.
  • Basic computer skills: Microsoft Office, Outlook, CMMS systems.
  • Knowledge of equipment in the production facility preferred; 10+ years preferred.
Schedule and Travel

• Over 90% of time spent traveling for rebuilding equipment and training. Overnight and out‑of‑state travel may be required if not located within 1 hour of the facility. • Variable schedule; more than 50% weekend work. • Primary work during non‑production hours; PM crew focused on reducing downtime. Typical days off: weekdays; occasional Mon‑Fri with weekends off.
