Job Responsibilities:
- Equipment Management
- Disassemble, inspect, clean, and rebuild mechanical components and equipment such as pumps, motors, conveyors, and packaging machinery, ensuring they meet performance specifications and food safety regulations.
- Perform routine maintenance to prevent downtime and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, safety, and reduce costs.
Diagnostic Testing:
- Conduct diagnostic tests to identify issues and assess whether repairs or replacements are appropriate.
- Use diagnostic tools to evaluate equipment functionality and identify potential failures.
- Implement troubleshooting strategies to resolve complex issues and minimize production downtime.
Quality Assurance:
- Verify post-rebuild equipment meets industry and safety standards through precise measurements and testing.
- Maintain adherence to food safety standards and ensure a clean, sanitary work environment.
Record Keeping:
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, parts used, and time spent.
- Ensure documentation complies with food industry regulations.
- Generate reports on maintenance procedures and equipment performance to support predictive maintenance.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with production and quality assurance teams.
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members.
- Collaborate across departments to troubleshoot issues, implement solutions, and support continuous improvement.
- Follow safety protocols, including PPE usage and safety procedures.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor and manage spare parts and tools inventory; recommend procurement needs.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely material availability.
Professional Development:
- Engage in ongoing training to stay current with maintenance technologies and techniques.
- Share knowledge and best practices with team members to promote continuous learning.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience, preferably in food manufacturing.
- Strong mechanical aptitude; ability to interpret mechanical documents and drawings.
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Understanding of food manufacturing standards and compliance.
- Effective communication skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and emergency on-call rotations.
