Job summary

Cajun Industries, LLC is seeking a Rodbuster Helper to support skilled craftspersons on a plant operations or construction jobsite in Houston. You will assist with layout and measuring of materials, spacing and fastening rebar, and preparing blocks under rebar.

The role emphasizes safe work practices and teamwork to contribute to concrete forming projects. This position requires learning safety hazards, using hand and power tools, and performing physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds,

Qualifications

• Move throughout active construction and project site environments.
• Inspect work, access materials, equipment, structures, and work areas at various levels.
• Work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, humidity, and wind; adapt to site conditions.
• Read, interpret, and apply work instructions, plans, and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Spacing and fastening rods in forms according to blueprints using wire and pliers; position and secure steel bars, rods, cables or mesh in concrete forms.
• Place blocks under rebar to hold the bars off the deck.
• Bend steel rods with hand tools and rodbending machines.
• Cut wire mesh or fabric and position for concrete reinforcement.
• Cut rods to required lengths and assist other craft workers as needed.
