Job summary

Commercial Metals is hiring for a hands-on manufacturing role in a heavy industrial setting in Lawrenceville, GA. The position involves learning and operating fabrication equipment, aiding in loading and unloading materials, and maintaining a clean, safe work area.

You'll train on cranes, shears, benders, forklifts and other machines, with opportunities to cross-train and advance. A strong work ethic and teamwork are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work outside in all weather and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely.
• Willingness to cross-train and work overtime when needed.

Responsibilities

• Attend training regarding applicable equipment.
• Perform additional duties as needed.
• Assist in loading fabricated rebar on trailers and unloading stock material from trailers.
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition.
• Operate production machines in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
• Participate in CMC Safety Programs and uphold safety culture.
• Cross-train on multiple machines.
• Operate rebar fabrication equipment such as shears, benders, cranes, forklift, threaders, forging, welders, etc.

What You'll Do

What You'll Need

• Must be able to work outside under all weather conditions to include working in the heat and cold weather
• Able and willing to cross train as required
• Follow OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies, rules, and regulations
• Possess a strong work ethic and practice safe working habits
• Ability to work as a team player in a fast paced environment, with strong work ethic, pay attention to detail and find root causes for issues
• Ability to operate fabrication machines in a safe manner without supervision
• Able to work overtime as business requires
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders and steps, work outside under all weather conditions when needed
• Must be able to read technical documents and service manuals
• Possess knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the industrial field
• Excellent communication skills, in both written and verbal form are necessary to be successful in this role
• Minimum 1 year working with heavy industrial environment experience preferred but not required
• Must be able to work overtime, either planned or unplanned for emergency situations
• Must possess work ethic and ability to be punctual
• Stand for long periods of time

Your Education

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
