Nucor Corporation in Boise, Idaho is seeking a rebar production worker to bend, cut, bundle and load reinforcing steel bars according to customers' orders. You will be trained by a mentor and work outdoors with safety as a priority.

Previous work in construction or trades is a plus; advancement opportunities exist for high performers in this safety–focused role. A reliable, detail-oriented candidate who can perform basic math and lift heavy materials will fit well.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work overtime when required.
• Able to read and comprehend basic safety and operational instructions.
• Able to perform basic math for accurate bar measurements.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Must be age 18 or over.
• Safety-sensitive position; must pass a drug test including THC.

Responsibilities

• Unload trailers and store material in storage bins.
• Operate a shearing machine or a power saw to cut reinforcing steel bars to specific lengths.
• Operate a bending machine to bend reinforcing steel bars to specified shape.
• Operate overhead crane to move, assemble and select material to be fabricated or shipped.
• Assemble and load orders onto trailers for shipping.
• Operate a spray gun in the application of epoxy touch up or reinforcing steel bars.
• Maintain the shop or designated area in a clean and safe manner.

Purpose

A rebar production worker at Nucor Rebar Fabrication will bend, cut, bundle and load reinforcing steel bars in accordance with customers' orders. You'll work with a mentor who will train you on safely using all machinery. Candidates must be able to work in an outdoor environment. Previous work in construction and landscaping is a huge plus; candidates with previous trades experience tend to be successful in the role and may have a significant opportunity for advancement within the organization. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
