Job description

The Shop Manager oversees all fabrication shop and office operations for a rebar manufacturing facility. This person is responsible for managing production schedules, ensuring materials and resources are available, maintaining quality standards, enforcing safety compliance, and coordinating logistics and deliveries. They will lead a team across shop, office, yard, and driver functions while serving as the primary liaison between operations, field teams, customers, and leadership. The role also manages inventory, purchasing approvals, production tracking, and overall job profitability. Success is measured by on-time deliveries, fabrication accuracy, safety performance, productivity, and operational efficiency.

Requirements:

• Previous manufacturing, fabrication, or production management experience
• Leadership experience managing shop employees and operations staff
• Experience with production scheduling and delivery coordination
• Quality control oversight experience
• Experience enforcing safety procedures and OSHA compliance
• Inventory management and material planning experience
• Experience with overhead cranes and fabrication equipment
• Strong communication and people management skills
• Comfortable working onsite in a manufacturing environment
• Experience using ERP or production tracking systems

Plusses:

• Rebar industry experience (highly preferred)
• Pipe fabrication/manufacturing experience
• Experience with plate machines, stamping machines, or similar fabrication equipment
• OSHA certifications/licenses
• Experience with ASA Reinforcing software
• Purchase Order approval experience

• Responsible for the entire operation from order intake through delivery
• Ensures current loads ship on time while planning for future production demands
• Manages incoming stock materials and production workflow
• Company plans to triple in size, making leadership and scalability important

• Software capabilities supplemented with Excel
