Job summary

GPAC is actively recruiting on behalf of a well-established reinforcing steel company for a Steel Rebar Estimator. This full-time, direct-hire position offers growth potential and a collaborative, detail-oriented team.

You will prepare detailed cost estimates for reinforcing steel projects, analyze drawings and bid documents, perform material takeoffs, and track changes while coordinating with project managers, detailers, field teams, and customers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years estimating experience in rebar, reinforcing steel, or related construction.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience performing material takeoffs and preparing detailed estimates.
• Strong understanding of rebar sizes, grades, shapes, quantities, and placement requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with estimating software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for reinforcing steel/rebar projects.

This is a full-time, direct-hire position offering strong growth potential and the opportunity to work with a collaborative, detail-oriented team.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for reinforcing steel/rebar projects.
• Analyze construction drawings, specifications, rebar placing drawings, and bid documents.
• Perform accurate material takeoffs and quantity estimates.
• Review bar sizes, shapes, quantities, grades, laps, splices, and other project requirements.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing when needed.
• Work closely with project managers, detailers, field teams, and customers.
• Utilize industry-standard estimating software to prepare bids and proposals.
• Participate in bid reviews and value-engineering discussions.
• Track project changes and update estimates accordingly.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred, but not required.
• Previous field experience with rebar installation or reinforcing steel fabrication.
• Familiarity with rebar detailing, bar lists, placing drawings, and fabrication processes.
• Experience with project management workflows and construction estimating.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, project managers, detailers, and field personnel.
