Nucor Rebar Fabrication Southwest, based in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a detail-oriented CAD professional to prepare shop drawings and manage projects from detailing to invoicing for rebar and related concrete products.

The role requires CAD experience, ability to read technical drawings, and strong coordination with contractors, engineers, and detailers. This in-person position offers stability within North America’s leading steel manufacturer.

Qualifications

• US work authorization is required (no sponsorship).
• At least six months of CAD experience and Windows-based software proficiency.
• Ability to read technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Create shop drawings and manage projects specific to detailing.
• Develop basic knowledge of rebar and concrete reinforcing products.
• Review and verify drawings, dates, specifications, addenda, and other contractual information.
• Represent Nucor Rebar Fabrication and liaise between contractor, engineer, placer, and detailer.
• Pre-plan projects for critical path, scope and schedules.
• Review changes and provide information for change orders.
• Participate in resolving construction conflicts and provide timely, cost-effective resolutions.

Purpose

This position is in-person, based in Phoenix, AZ Detail simple projects with supervision and provide concise, accurate, and complete descriptions of all rebar, mesh wire, and related concrete reinforcing products for fabrication, delivery, installation, and invoicing in the most efficient manner possible. Cultivate a customer service relationship while maximizing profits for Nucor Rebar Fabrication.

Basic Job Functions

• Create shop drawing and manage projects specific to detailing.
• Develop basic knowledge of rebar & concrete reinforcing products.
• Review and verify drawings, dates, specifications, addenda, and other contractual information.
• Represent Nucor Rebar Fabrication & liaise between contractor, engineer, placer, and detailer.
• Pre-plan all projects for critical path, scope, and schedules.
• Review all changes and provide information for change orders.
• Be involved with construction conflicts/disputes and provide timely, cost-effective resolutions.
• Perform other duties as required by your supervisor.

Minimum Requirements

• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
• At least six months experience using CAD and Windows-based software.

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to read technical drawings.

Preferences

• Vocational certificate in CAD design/drafting issued from accredited school or currently enrolled.
• Effective in verbal and written communication.
• Construction knowledge - concrete related experience particularly helpful.
