Job summary

WindBorne Systems designs, manufactures, and operates Atlas, a global constellation of smart weather balloons, collecting atmospheric data to power WeatherMesh forecasts. We’re hiring a software engineer to keep the model inference running, process real-time observations, and build tools to visualize progress and failures.

No ML background required; success comes from curiosity, learning ability, and solid software discipline. Location: In person at 1600 Bridge Parkway, Redwood Shores, CA.

Qualifications

• Own production software and ensure reliability
• Ability to reason about complex systems and debugging
• Demonstrated self-learning and proactive problem solving
• Nice to have UI design ideas or portfolio

Responsibilities

• Keep forecasts running and handle failures in production.
• Process real-time atmospheric data and manage late/missing data.
• Build visualization tools to show data processing and model inference progress.
