Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced software engineer to design, implement, and test real-time C/C++ software for multi-core systems running Linux or RTOS like VxWorks. You will work with RF hardware interfaces, TCP/IP, DDS, and MATLAB‑based algorithms, integrating with third‑party frameworks and documenting the results.

The role requires 8+ years of experience, a related bachelor’s degree, strong OO design, and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (CE/EE/CS).
• 8+ years of software development experience with Python, MATLAB or C++.
• Strong understanding of object‑oriented design.
• Basic understanding of hardware‑software interaction and computer architecture.
• Experience with hardware interfaces (PCIe, UART, Ethernet).
• Experience with build tools GCC, CMake or Make; version control (Git/Subversion) and CI (Jenkins).
• Experience with software testing tools and documentation for developed software.
• Ability to communicate ideas and designs with a team of engineers.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design and development of advanced systems as part of multi-disciplinary teams.
• Design, implement, and test real-time C/C++ software for multi-core systems running Linux or RTOS like VxWorks.
• Build software products using third-party libraries for math and communication.
• Interface protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, and DDS.
• Read MATLAB signal-processing algorithms and integrate with software.
• Work with Linux and RTOS environments; configure and control RF hardware devices.
• Integrate software into third-party frameworks (e.g., Redhawk).
• Document the developed systems and support field testing events.
