Job summary

Lyft is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join the Fulfillment team within Marketplace. You will design, develop, and deploy state-of-the-art ML systems that determine inventory offers, match rider requests with drivers, and track rides end-to-end.

The role requires translating research into production solutions, collaborating with ML engineers, data scientists, and software engineers, and delivering scalable, data-driven improvements across the ride-sharing platform.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field.
• 2+ years of ML modeling experience.
• Experience with deep learning for recommendation systems (TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Understanding of statistical concepts and evaluation metrics for ML.
• Experience translating research into production systems.
• Proficiency in Python, Golang, or other languages.
• Ability to tackle ambiguous problems at scale.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy ML models for real-time applications.
• Design feature pipelines, training workflows, and serving infra.
• Evaluate ML system performance against KPIs and run experiments.
• Partner with ML engineers, product managers, data scientists, and software engineers.
• Leverage data-driven insights to refine ML strategies and solutions.
• Write production-level code and participate in code reviews.
