Trideum Corporation is seeking a Software Integration & Middleware Engineer to design, develop, and sustain high-performance middleware components for a complex Army simulation environment. This role bridges the Digital Engineering environment with OneSAF and related government systems, enabling real-time interoperability and scalable distributed simulation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related STEM field.
• 5+ years of experience in high-performance middleware and real-time distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in C++, Python, DDS, ZeroMQ, gRPC, and related middleware technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Linux SDN tools (TAP/TUN, tc/NetEm), virtual networking, and automated testing frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Develop, package, and maintain software bridges that translate, route, and synchronize data among federated systems.
• Translate SE artifacts and SysML diagrams into running applications with the systems engineering team.
• Build and refine protocol adapters for C++, Python, DDS, ZeroMQ, gRPC, and related real-time communication frameworks.
• Investigate and implement network throttling and shaping interfaces, including TAP/TUN devices and SDN-based routing constructs.
• Integrate middleware modules with virtualized DE Environment components and ATAC-based applications.
• Ensure low-latency, high-throughput message brokering across simulation environments while maintaining reliability and interface standards.
• Develop automated tests and CI pipelines to validate performance and interoperability across OneSAF, DE, and CJSIL interfaces.
• Troubleshoot distributed simulation behaviors and complex middleware/network issues.
