Job summary

The City of Fairfield invites applications for part-time Real Time Information Center (RTIC) / Drone as First Responder (DFR) Operators. You will deploy drones, analyze live video and critical data to help officers respond safely, support investigations, and protect the community.

Ideal candidates are technically skilled, detail-oriented, and ready to support public safety from a unique venue. Interviews are planned to fill 2 vacancies with dates to be announced.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of analytical, technical, or operational support in a law enforcement or public safety context.
• Must pass a comprehensive background investigation including polygraph, psychological, and medical evaluations.
• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate or ability to obtain within six months of appointment.
• Valid California Class C driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate RTIC/DFR drones and monitor live video feeds.
• Analyze real-time data to assist officers in response and investigations.
• Support public safety operations and maintain drone equipment and documentation.
• Adhere to background checks and certifications as part of the selection process.

The Fairfield Police Department is seeking part-time Real Time Information Center (RTIC) / Drone as First Responder (DFR) Operators to put technology into action when every second counts. From deploying drones to analyzing live video and critical data, you will provide actionable information that helps officers respond safely, supports investigations, and protects our community.

Experience

Minimum Qualifications

One (1) year of work experience providing analytical, technical, or operational support in a law enforcement, public safety, emergency communications, intelligence, or security environment. Incumbent will need to pass a background investigation which may include a polygraph, psychological and medical evaluation.

Education

Education equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.

Licenses and/or Certificates

• Possession of and the ability to maintain an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate or obtain certification within six (6) months of appointment is required.
• Possession of and the ability to maintain a valid California Class C driver’s license is required.
