Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking a Real-Time Embedded Software Developer and Verification Engineer to join the SMS and Computing Platform Development Team in a hybrid role based in Grand Rapids, MI or Clearwater, FL.

You will design, develop, verify real-time embedded software across the full V-model lifecycle using C, C++, and Ada, targeting AMD/Xilinx UltraScale+ MPSoC, RTOS, and bare-metal drivers. Relocation is available and U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 4 to 6 years of experience developing real-time embedded software.
• Proficiency in C, C++, and/or Ada.
• Experience across full software development lifecycle (V-model).
• Experience with bare-metal drivers and RTOS-based systems.
• Experience with software verification methods, tools, and test execution.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and verify real-time embedded software across the full V-model software lifecycle.

• Develop Stores Management Computer and Station Carriage Control Unit software within the SMS and Computing Platform team.
• Develop embedded software using C, C++, and Ada.

• Integrate software supporting MIL-STD-1553 data bus communications.
• Develop and execute software verification activities using Robot Framework, LDRA, VectorCAST, or similar tools.
• Apply software safety, certification, and airworthiness standards including DO-178, MIL-HDBK-516C, or JSSSEH.
• Support proposal and capture efforts with technical inputs and development approaches.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality software for an undisclosed program.

Job Description Summary

We are seeking a Real-Time Embedded Software Developer and Verification Engineer to join our Stores Management System (SMS) and Computing Platform Development Team in support of an undisclosed program. In this hybrid role, you will contribute across the full software development lifecycle (V-model), from requirements definition and architecture through implementation, integration, verification, and validation.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience developing real-time embedded software for safety- or mission-critical applications, with strong skills in C, C++, and/or Ada, as well as experience working with bare-metal drivers, RTOS environments, and hardware/software integration. This role includes development for the AMD/Xilinx UltraScale+ MPSoC and support for software used in Stores Management Computer (SMC) and Station Carriage Control Unit applications.

Location: Grand Rapids, MI or Clearwater, FL

This position, which offers a blend of onsite and hybrid work arrangements, is based in Grand Rapids or Clearwater, FL and necessitates a presence in the office for 2-3 days each week. An extensive corporate relocation package is also available for eligible candidates.

The base pay range for this position is $112,000.00 - $149,000.00 USD Annually. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors,including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.This position is also eligiblefor an annual discretionary bonus based on apercentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan.This posting isexpected to close on10/31/26.
