Job summary

IST Precision Inc. is seeking a firmware engineer to design and debug RTOS and bare-metal firmware for ARM microcontrollers and AMD/Xilinx SoCs, focusing on real-time deterministic behavior in hardware-driven projects.

You will collaborate with electronics, mechanical, and software teams, work hands-on with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers, and contribute to bring-up, testing, and integration of high-precision instrumentation systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in a related field as required.
• 5+ years of embedded firmware development for hardware systems.
• Proficiency in C and C++ for embedded work.
• Experience with RTOS and bare-metal firmware on ARM MCUs.
• Experience with SPI, I2C, UART, and timing-sensitive interfaces.
• Experience bringing up hardware with test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain firmware for ARM-based MCUs and SoCs.
• Implement data acquisition, real-time control, and high-speed interfaces.
• Design control algorithms including PID and phase locking for systems.
• Collaborate with electronics, mechanical, and software teams.
• Conduct hardware bring-up and debugging with oscilloscopes & logic analyzers.
• Support architecture decisions, code reviews, and DevOps alignment.
