Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque is seeking a software engineer for real-time data processing in a mission-focused R&D environment. You will design and implement software for remote sensing and real-time satellite data systems, collaborating across disciplines to deliver robust, extensible applications onsite.

The role requires proficiency in C++, Python, and modern development tools, and the ability to obtain DOE Q and SCI security clearances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q and SCI security clearance.
• Graduate degree with extensive programming experience (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Develop software solutions and algorithms for remote sensing systems.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, customers, and end users to collect requirements, design solutions, and deliver extensible software applications.
• Analyze existing systems and develop new solutions that push the state of what is possible.
• Propose and lead image processing and data-centric research and development projects.
• Engage with diverse specialists in data fusion, signal and image processing, analytics, cloud computing, machine learning, modeling and simulation, service architectures, data management, and visualization.
