Butler America Aerospace, LLC. is hiring a Data Engineer to build scalable data pipelines and enable near real-time data ingestion across on-prem and AWS environments. The role supports remote or Seattle, WA locations with a focus on Python, ETL tools, and modern data architectures.

Ideal candidates have 3–7 years of experience and an engineering degree, with hands-on work on AWS services, Kafka, and NoSQL databases to support analytics requirements.

• Develop data ingestion services and pipelines
• Experience with Python and ETL tools
• Experience with real-time data streaming architectures on AWS/Kafka/SNS-SQS

Responsibilities

• Develop services to enable data ingestion and synchronization with data access mechanisms for near real-time updates
• Ingest data from multiple sources using Python and ETL tools
• Design and implement event-driven architecture for real-time data streaming (AWS EventBridge, Kafka, SNS/SQS)
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines across on-prem and AWS environments
• Develop Python scripts with pandas/NumPy for large datasets
• Work with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB) for high-performance storage
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data workflows for reliability and scalability
• Migrate pipelines to MSSQL server
• Collaborate on data architecture including ingestion, pipelines, business logic and analytics
• Document target data architecture, pipelines, processing and analytics patterns
• Identify opportunities for optimization and consolidation
• Collaborate with data team on data transformation patterns
