Job summary

Metis Technology Solutions Inc. seeks an experienced Backend Software Engineer to join our team and reimagine air traffic management for the 21st century. You will work on the Extensible Traffic Management (XTM) Client at NASA’s Ames Research Center, enabling planning and real-time message exchange for airspace systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience developing enterprise class applications in Java and/or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Solid understanding of microservice and event driven architectures.
• Experience with Spring, Maven, Gradle, and other related technologies.
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with message brokers such as Kafka.
• Experience with authorization protocols such as OAuth 2.0.
• Agile development experience.
• Passion for writing high-quality, reliable code, unit and integration tests, and clear and concise documentation
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to stay focused on completing tasks and meeting goals within a busy workspace
• Minimum B.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
