Job summary

Stout Risius Ross, LLC is seeking Real Estate Interns to assist with valuation and advisory services across estate & gift tax appraisal, financial reporting, and related areas. You will gain client exposure and develop technical skills while working under Stout professionals.

On-site work is expected with partnership access to senior leaders. Interns in the Real Estate practice will perform on-site inspections, market research, and data analysis to support valuation projects, with opportunities

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, Economics, or related discipline.
• Minimum cumulative GPA 3.0; 3.5+ preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for client site inspections as needed.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word); familiarity with Argus preferred.
• Real Estate internship or industry experience preferred.
• Must be eligible to work in the US, without employer sponsorship, at the time of hire and in the future.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site property inspections and evaluations, applying professional judgment to assess relevant financial, operations and physical characteristics that impact valuation outcomes.
• Perform comprehensive market, industry, and property-level research to support valuation assumptions and benchmark analyses.
• Prepare due diligence questions and evaluate supporting documentation to validate financial, operational, and market assumptions.
• Engage with key market participants to gather crucial real estate data and insights, exercising discretion to ensure data relevance and accuracy for valuation.
• Participate in and contribute substantively to client meetings, management discussions, and strategic planning sessions, both on-site and virtually.
• Perform independent analyses of complex financial statements, and interpret data sets to generate strategic insights and recommendations for senior leadership and clients.
• Exercise discretion and independent judgment in selecting appropriate valuation methodologies and key assumptions.
• Create comprehensive deliverables and supporting analyses of real property including presentations, analysis packets, and written narratives – relied upon by our senior level professionals and delivery to our clients.
