Community Financial System, Inc. (CFSI) is seeking a Real Estate Underwriter to evaluate residential mortgage and home equity loan applications with a focus on risk assessment and guideline adherence. The role requires knowledge of TILA-RESPA, ATR/QM, HMDA, and various loan programs.

You will analyze income, assets, and credit to determine borrower eligibility, document decisions, and support closing packages while maintaining confidentiality and professional standards.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; may consider equivalent mortgage-processing experience.
• Minimum five years of experience highly preferred.
• All applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsabilités

• Evaluate, approve, or decline residential mortgage and home equity loan applications.
• Document underwriting decisions and prepare concise loan summaries.
• Review appraisals and title reports for compliance with program requirements.
• Coordinate with Mortgage Coordinators and progress loans to closing.
• Stay updated on lending policies and regulatory changes.
