Job summary

Keystone Distinction Group, based in New York, seeks a mid-level Real Estate Associate Attorney to join its AmLaw 100 global law firm client’s Real Estate Practice Group in New York. Hybrid work with a collaborative team of over 80 real estate attorneys nationwide, handling high-value transactions.

The candidate should have 3–7 years of real estate transactional experience, NY Bar, and a JD from a top-tier law school, with strong drafting and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
• Active New York Bar admission in good standing.
• 3–7 years of substantive real estate transactional experience.
• Experience representing lenders and/or borrowers in real estate financings, acquisitions, dispositions, development, leasing, and joint ventures.
• Experience negotiating, documenting, and closing mortgage, mezzanine, and other secured lending transactions.
• Prior large law firm or sophisticated real estate practice experience preferred.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and communication skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Collaborative mindset, professionalism, and enthusiasm for client service.

Responsibilities

• Support senior attorneys in structuring, drafting, and negotiating a wide variety of real estate transactions, including financing, acquisition, development, and joint ventures.
• Conduct due diligence and coordinate closing processes for complex real estate deals.
• Prepare and review key transactional documents such as loan agreements, purchase and sale agreements, leases, and joint venture agreements.
• Advise clients on real estate and financing matters, delivering practical, business-oriented guidance.
• Collaborate across practice groups, including corporate and tax, to deliver comprehensive solutions for clients’ real estate projects.
• Develop strong working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders through responsiveness and high-quality work.
