Job summary

SSP Law Co. in Cincinnati, OH, seeks an experienced title agent to lead the Hyde Park Title Agency.

The role blends operational leadership with legal oversight to keep real estate transactions moving smoothly, compliantly, and with a client-first mindset. You will oversee day-to-day title/escrow/closing operations, manage residential and commercial transactions, draft and review closing documents, resolve title matters, and coordinate with underwriters.

Qualifications

• Active Ohio Title Insurance Agent license (or in process).
• 5+ years real estate law or title operations experience.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with internal teams and partners.
• JD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day title/escrow/closing operations, including title examination, remittance, compliance, and escrow workflow effectiveness
• Work alongside the existing title agent to manage residential and commercial transactions (purchases, sales, refinances, construction financing, development, and closings)
• Draft, review, and interpret key closing documents (deeds, affidavits, easements, restrictive covenants, surveys, and transaction paperwork)
• Resolve title matters of record (defects, liens, encroachments, probate and judgment issues) and coordinate approvals with underwriters and/or underwriting counsel
• Review and approve title commitments, title insurance policies, endorsements, policy remittance, and escrow procedures
• Coach, develop, and mentor the support team to strengthen accuracy, speed, and consistency

What you'll do

You bring

• Strong communication and collaboration skills with internal teams and outside partners (clients, attorneys, lenders, underwriters, vendors)
• Juris doctor (JD) preferred

Schedule & travel

• On-site presence required to run the agency effectively
• Limited local travel may be needed for closings, document pickup/drop-off, and occasional county office recordings/public-records requests
