Henssler Property Management, LLC is seeking a Property Accountant to support a portfolio of single-family and multifamily properties. You will engage in distributions, reconciliations, cash reports, and financial statements while interacting with property owners monthly.

You’ll become the go-to Appfolio and Yardi resource for property managers, helping secure accurate records and timely financial insights, with a collaborative team behind you.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience.
• Strong command of debits and credits, journal entries, and general ledger.
• The ability to prepare and review financial statements.
• Clear written and verbal communication, including presenting numbers clearly.
• Discretion with confidential information.
• Self-motivation, critical thinking, and strong organization.

Responsabilités

• Process single-family and multifamily owner distributions.
• Meet with property owners monthly.
• Complete single-family and multifamily bank reconciliations.
• Manage single-family receivables (scan to bank).
• Support property managers in Appfolio and Yardi.
• Prepare multifamily cash reports.
• Prepare and review multifamily financial statements.
• Assist with real estate fund tax returns and audit work.
• Take on additional projects as the team grows.

Do you like clean reconciliations, accurate financial statements, and the satisfaction of closing the books right? Henssler Property Management is looking for a Property Accountant to support our portfolio of single-family and multifamily properties.

Requirements

What you bring

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
• 1-3 years of accounting experience
• Strong command of debits and credits, journal entries, and general ledger accounting
• The ability to prepare and review financial statements
• Clear written and verbal communication, including presenting numbers in a way others understand
• A customer-service mindset: you respond promptly, keep your commitments, and stay calm in difficult conversations
• Discretion with confidential information
• Self-motivation, critical thinking, and strong organization

Bonus points (not required)

• Property accounting experience
• Familiarity with Thomson Reuters accounting software, Appfolio, or Yardi Voyager
