Jobtailor in Kentucky is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the facility capital plan for the Midwest region. You will drive project development, oversee execution, and collaborate with Real Estate and Business Units to secure senior leadership approvals.

Manage infrastructure replacement, engage external partners, and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects on scope, time, and budget.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years related work experience; or High School/GED with 9 years related work experience.
  • Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without immigration sponsorship.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's in PM, Real Estate, Construction Management, or Architecture.
  • Preferred: 10 years related work experience.
  • Certifications: PMP, Professional Engineer, CAPM, Utility Certifications, CMII, POPM.
  • Proficient in project management, decision making, critical thinking, and problem solving.
  • Experience in risk management and project leadership within a Utility Business Unit.
  • Construction management knowledge; scheduling and cost controls expertise.
  • Strong budgeting and forecasting capabilities; matrixed team leadership and stakeholder relations.
  • Willingness for out-of-town travel within Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the facility capital plan for the Midwest region.
  • Lead project development and execution oversight.
  • Partner with Real Estate teams and Business Units for options and approvals.
  • Oversee capital infrastructure replacement and execution.
  • Engage external partners and vendors to execute plans.
  • Manage all phases of project planning and execution.
  • Plan scope, schedule, cost, safety, and quality aspects.
  • Lead scope definition, estimating, scheduling, cost control, procurement, contracting.
  • Create, staff, and lead project teams.
  • Provide leadership and coordinate across organizations.
  • Guide matrixed team members and interface with functional leaders.
  • Establish stakeholder communications and lead project meetings.
  • Report status and necessary communications.
  • Execute projects within approved scope, cost, and schedule.
  • Manage plans covering deliverables, WBS, procurement, budgets, risks, quality, safety, and closeout.

Education

Job description

  • Develop and manage the facility capital plan for the assigned Midwest region
  • Lead project development and project execution oversight
  • Partner with Real Estate teams and Business Units to identify opportunities, evaluate options, and obtain senior leadership approval
  • Oversee the capital infrastructure replacement program and execution
  • Engage external strategic partners and vendors to execute the capital plan and facility strategy
  • Manage or assist with all phases of project planning and execution
  • Plan project scope, schedule, cost, safety, and quality aspects
  • Lead scope and work definition, estimating, schedule formation, monitoring, cost control, procurement and contracting strategies, equipment and vendor selection, commissioning, and integration
  • Create, staff, and lead project teams
  • Provide leadership, oversight, direction, delegation, and coordination across internal and external organizations
  • Guide matrixed team members and interface with functional leaders regarding placement, development, and conflict resolution
  • Establish and maintain stakeholder communications
  • Lead project meetings and prepare and communicate project status reports and required communications
  • Execute projects within approved scope, cost, and schedule constraints
  • Manage project plans covering deliverables, WBS, schedules, procurement, contractors, resources, budgets, risks, quality, safety, environmental, security, communications, change management, and closeout
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years related work experience
  • In lieu of Bachelor's degree and 5 years related work experience: High School/GED and 9 years related work experience
  • Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Real Estate, Construction Management, or Architecture
  • Preferred: 10 years related work experience
  • Preferred certifications: Project Management Professional, Professional Engineer, Certified Associate of Project Management, Utility Technical Certifications/Training, CMII Certification, or POPM
  • Proficient to demonstrated expertise in project management, decision making, critical thinking, and problem solving
  • Project-related work experience in risk management and project leadership
  • Utility Business Unit experience
  • Construction management knowledge
  • Proficient to expert in project scheduling and cost controls
  • Relationship development and sustainment skills
  • Proficient in budget management and forecasting
  • May require out-of-town and overnight travel within Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky
